CO Visit

We're back in Pueblo, CO hanging out at my father-in-law's house. When we were here before (earlier this month) we made a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was really pretty and we enjoyed the views, the elk, the coolness of the mountains. However, around 5am the morning of what would be our first night of two, we finally all made if out of our beds to converse and decide it was WAY too cold to stay another night. I am not a fan of being cold AT ALL so when Benjamin and his Dad said they were too cold to sleep, I was happy to hear I wasn't alone in my misery. After watching an elk pass through our campsite and a quick trip to the bathhouse, we loaded up in the freezing morning air and headed to the nearest town for some coffee and breakfast....only to find nothing opened til at least 8! Come on! What about us hungry, cold, travelers up before the sun?! Ah well, we headed home and stopped on the way to get warm.


On our trip back we stopped at a beautiful sculpture garden. You could almost see the emotions in these lifeless figures. Whoever the artist was, did a wonderful job! Wouldn't ya say?


If you know me, you know I love zoos so of course we made a trip to the Colorado Springs Zoo while we were here...

I did get some animal pictures too :)

...and while there, we ventured up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun.

Both places very enjoyable and pretty.

We really enjoyed our visit in Pueblo and around the area with Benjamin's Dad. We have made good memories and seen a lot of beauty...so much so that we're already back again! :) We'll be heading out on Wednesday or Thursday for the slow trip home to Murfreesboro...a bitter-sweet thing but we're ready for this next chapter and excited for what it will hold.
